  4. Add tomatoes, chicken broth, espresso powder, and salt and pepper. Bring to a boil then reduce heat. Let simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 15 minutes.

  5. Add beans and cook for an additional 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  6. Place chili in bowls and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
