Aether (Deity) (2024)

Aether is the Primordial of Light worshiped by the ancient Greeks and one of the Protogenoi. He's the eldest child of Erebus and Nyx while also being the husband of Hemera.

Overview[]

Aether the god himself is the embodiment of the upper sky, the stratosphere is his domain and with it the air that the gods breathe from. Every world has its own air for its creatures to breathe, the underworld is breathed by its monsters, the Human Realm is breathed by its humans, and the Skyland is breathed by the divine beings who control reality; that is the air that Aether controls. It's not just the air of Skyland that he controls however, a portion of the Earth's sky belongs to him as well. The Earthly sky isn't the only cosmic body that Aether can control, the Moon, Stars, Clouds, and partially even the Sun can be controlled by him.

Aether is also a protector of mortals, using his power to keep them separate from monstrous beings such as Tartarus. His presence alone keeps creatures from the underworld and below away from humans and their home. This made him loved and honored by many of ancient humankind just like the other deities, though many of these temples were destroyed and their rituals long since forgotten.

Appearance[]

When manifesting into reality, Aether takes the form of a masculine human with a muscular physique and fair skin. His hair is curly and dark, and he has a full beard. He wears a tall crown upon his head and a piece of cloth around his body. This is only a manifestation however, as his essence is far beyond any physical body.

Personality[]

Although not much was known about his personality, it was mentioned by his siblings that he was both cheerful and caring towards his siblings as well as all sentient species in existence irrespective of who they were and judged them by their nature instead of their race he has absolutely zero tolerance for all chaotic primeval beings who enjoy bringing suffering to others.

Powers and Abilities[]

• Nigh-Omnipotence: Aether as a Primordial is one of the most powerful beings in existence capable of taking on multiple Archangels at once and even go toe toe with the likes of Merkabah, Satan and Barachiel.
• Creation: Aether can create organic or inorganic matter from nothing, either as finished objects or simply unfinished elements. Higher level He can create anything they can think of, whether conceptual or sentient. This includes the creation of energy, souls and life of any complexity, dimensions or realities, stars, etc.
• Destruction: Aether can utterly destroy things. Depending on the user, this could be anything and everything from small objects to entire galaxies or universes and possibly even abstract concepts and/or natural forces/laws. This power still has limits - if they lack any limits then this would be an example of Absolute Destruction. What those exact limits are will depend on the user. If the user is able to remove something completely and utterly without leaving anything behind, it may instead be a form of Erasure.
• Primeval-Light-Manipulation: Being the personification of primeval light Aether is able to manipulate it for various uses such as removing curses, healing people, exorcising dark spirits and even creating divine weapons of light which are extremely harmful for all entities of darkness after training in the cosmic egg his power and control over primeval light increased to the point that all Dukes of Hell felt as if they were burning to oblivion just by standing near his aura he was also able to send Lucifer into a coma with a single punch and nearly crippled Satan with a single blast of primeval light.

History[]

Origin[]

Aether was born from Erebus and Nyx before the creation of the material world, he was their first child and their most favored. Aether fought in the Primeval Wars on the side of Khaos though it's unknown who he fought over the course of conflict. When the war subsided, Aether and the rest of the primordials were allowed to integrate into God's creation so long as they didn't try to destroy it.

Aether became part of the Earth's skies, he became a consort of Hemera and they established a routine. Every morning, Hemera would scatter the mist of the night to reveal Aether in the sky.

Fight with Tinshemet[]

For unknown reasons, Aether had found himself in a fight with Tinshemet. He nearly wiped out her from existence by tricking her into entering her true demonic form and them smiting her with the primeval light of heavens nearly burning her to a crisp something which she barely survived and had made her become extremely wary and fearful towards every primeval light user in general.

Myths and Legends[]

Aether is a figure from Greek mythology. Originally Aether only referred to the upper sky, however in Hesiod's Theogony Aether was a personified god.
