Sanji is the third-strongest fighter in the Straw Hat Pirates, with Luffy and Zoro being the only ones superior to him. As such, it is a given for him to be highly notorious in the One Piece world. After the two-year timeskip, Sanji has managed to learn how to use Haki, and currently, he is a user of both the Color of Observation and the Color of Armament. So far, Sanji has not shown the ability to use the Color of the Supreme King, also called Conqueror's Haki, however, he could very well have this power.

Sanji's Haki Types

Sanji is an extremely skilled Haki user. During the two years he spent at Maiden Island, he trained his usage of both Armament and Observation Haki. Unlike Zoro and Luffy, Sanji wasn't taught this skill by anyone. He managed to learn all by himself and that is certainly an incredible feat. Sanji has displayed his immense affinity for Observation Haki on more than a few occasions now. According to Oda, the author of the series, Sanji is especially accustomed to using this type of Haki at a very high level. In the crew, while Luffy can see the future using this Haki, Sanji is considered to be a better user of this power across all its spectrums.

Sanji is also a skilled user of Armament Haki and he has displayed the skill on several occasions, especially in the Wano Country arc. To defeat Queen the Plague, Sanji used his Haki to coat his body and improve its durability against the high-temperature flames of Ifrit Jambe. Combining all his powers, he was able to defeat a man worth 1.32 billion quite easily. While Sanji is already quite powerful, there is certainly room for him to learn another type of Haki which is found only within one in a million people – Conqueror's Haki.

Sanji's Royal Blood

One Piece: Why Sanji Could Possess Conqueror's Haki, Explained (3)

Conqueror's Haki is a power that a person is either born with or they don't possess at all. To have this power, a lineage of people with kingly ambitions is often present. For instance, Luffy is the son of Dragon, the man who aims to topple the World Government. Similarly, all the members of the Four Emperors possess this power simply because they are Emperors and thus possess the ambition to conquer. Doflamingo is another example of a King born with this power.

While this isn't always the case, possessing a royal bloodline certainly increases the chances for one to awaken this power. Children Of conquerors have also held this power in the series. Charlotte Katakuri, the son of Big Mom, has access to Conqueror's Haki as this power can be passed down. Similarly, Yamato, Kaido's child, has access to it as well simply by virtue of being Kaido's kid.

Sanji, as fans know, is the son of Vinsmoke Judge. The Vinsmoke Family have, in the past, been the rulers of the North Blue. As such, they have often been described as conquerors in the past. Judge himself was known to be a hero of a war known as the Conquest of Four Kings. As such, it is without any doubt that could potentially have received this ability and that it sleeps within him currently.

Sanji's Ambition

Usually, those who awaken Conqueror's Haki do so because of their incredible ambition. Luffy, for instance, wants to become the King of the Pirates and, thus, has kingly ambitions. Zoro wants to be the world's strongest swordsman which requires him to dethrone the man who currently sits atop this throne – Dracule Mihawk. Similarly, Sanji's ambition is to find the All Blue like no cook has ever done before. This sea is a mysterious place where fishes from all Four Blues can be found. While this doesn't necessarily see him dethrone someone, it requires him to conquer the entirety of the Grand Line and then find the sea that no one has ever done before.

Finding the All Blue is an incredibly hard dream, and for Sanji, it could well lead to being the trigger to his Conqueror's Haki. Interestingly, ambition isn't always necessary for this power to be present in people. Yamato, for instance, only wants to set out to see in search of freedom yet possesses this power. Similarly, all Charlotte Katakuri wishes to do is to protect his family yet he also has this power. Sanji certainly has quite a strong base to awaken Conqueror's Haki in the future and fans of his character are eagerly waiting in anticipation for that to happen.
