Network Connection Failure received on mobile devices for Yahoo | Yahoo Help - SLN22197 (2024)

An unsecured connection might generate a connection-related error when attempting to connect to Yahoo Mail.

Make sure your device has the latest version of iOS or Android OS. Older versions use outdated settings and might cause this error. For assistance updating iOS or Android OS, contact your phone's manufacturer. After you've updated your device to the latest OS, remove and re-add Yahoo Mail on your device.

iOS Mail app

Note - When you remove your account make sure you have a backup of any notes saved under your Yahoo account or they will be lost when you remove it from the iOS Mail app.

Remove your account

  1. Open Settings and go to Mail.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select your account.
  4. Tap Delete Account.
  5. Tap Delete Account to confirm.

Re-add your account

  1. Open Settings and go to Mail.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Tap Add Account and select Yahoo.
  4. Sign in using your username, email, or mobile.
    - Optionally, choose what you would like to sync with your email account from your phone.
  5. Tap Save on the top right.

Android Mail app

The steps below apply in general but they may be different for each Android manufacturer.

Remove your account

  1. Tap the Mail icon.
  2. Tap the 3 horizontal lines on top left.

  4. Select your account.
  5. Tap Remove on the top right.

Re-add your account

  1. Tap the Mail icon.
  2. Tap the 3 horizontal lines of top left on your screen.
  3. Tap on Settings Network Connection Failure received on mobile devices for Yahoo |Yahoo Help- SLN22197 (2).
  4. Tap on Add account and select Yahoo.
  5. Sign in using your username, email, or mobile.
  6. Agree with the Yahoo terms.

Mail clients and other mobile devices

Use the following info to update your Yahoo Mail server settings manually.

Web browsers on mobile devices

  • Some older device's browsers don't support secure connections.
  • Unsupported browsers will get a connection error when accessing Yahoo Mail.
  • If your device doesn't support HTTPS, you can still access Yahoo Mail from a computer.
