What to do when you hit level 60 Shadowlands? ›

First and foremost are stonecutting, weapon smithing, armor crafting, and jewelcrafting. This is because crafting an endgame set can be more reliable than questing or purchasing it. In addition, you'll definitely need high-level potions, tinctures, and damage boosters.

At level 55, you can upgrade your skills to level 11 for a 10% damage boost. At level 60, you can level your skills to 12 for another 5% damage boost. Greater Skill Point Potion can be collected for a total of 360 Skill Points at level 50. With level 55, your maximum Skill Points attainable will become 390.

The only solid information I found is that Chromie time now lasts until level 61. I was initially going to lock my level at 59 because someone mentioned that you are prevented from locking it at level 60 (not confirmed). But then I realised you probably won't get experience past level 60 without Dragonflight anyway.

60–61. Start your adventure by completing your faction version of The Dragon Isles Await. This will put you on the main story path of the expansion, so follow it. After completing all the necessary stuff for the expedition, it is time to move to the Dragon Isles.

Once you hit level 60, you can start to earn Gypsum. These can then be crafted at a Gypsum Kiln (located in level 60+ area Outposts in Shattered Mountain) which can be used to create item casts. These are a guaranteed Expertise increase for your items, including weapons, armor, and jewelry.

The base game gets your character to level 60, skills to level 200, and max gear score to level 650 (I think that was the old max). The DLC takes you to level 65, skills to 250, and gear to 700.

However, what we've seen so far during New World's first few days of retail availability and the earlier beta periods tends to suggest that it's going to take you about 100 to 200 hours to reach level 60 depending on how you choose to play.

Someone not used to questing could probably pretty comfortably get to 60 in <20 just grinding straight through the campaign questing of Shadowlands/BFA/Legion. I could probably do 1-60 in ~10 hours without too much effort.
