The pros of Kangen Water
Kangen water is antioxidant alkaline water, which is good for your health. The Kangen machine is capable of reaching a pH of 10, without chemicals, which is fine for daily consumption. You can reach higher pH levels with the Kangen machine, but you have to add chemicals to do so.
Some of the chemicals you can spike your Kangen water with raise the pH of the water, but they also make the water toxic, so you canāt drink it. This type of Kangen water is called āStrongā Kangen water by Enagic, and itās used only for cleaning, it has no other use.
The cons of Kangen water
As mentioned at the beginning of this article, Kangen water is the most expensive alkaline water on the market. At a pH of 10, Kangen water simply doesnāt have enough acid-fighting alkalinity to tackle the toughest health problems, and athletes looking to improve their performance would also be better served with a more powerful machine. A Life Ionizer MXL7 costs about half as much as a Kangen machine and it reaches higher pH and antioxidant ORP levels. So the bargain-priced MXL7 definitely makes healthier alkaline water than the Kangen machine.
Weak filtration
The Kangen machine has only a single filter, and itās inadequate for dealing with many of the toxins found in tap water. In fact, because of shortcomings with the filter, the Kangen machine just might change your life ā for the worse. The filter in the Kangen machine doesnāt reduce levels of heavy metals or salt. This means that if a heavy metal like lead is found in your water (lead contamination in the US is widespread) then that lead will be in your Kangen water.
Underpowered
One of the main selling points Enagic representatives use to promote the Kangen machine is that it has large plates. The problem is that the machine doesnāt have enough power for those large plates. The lack of power is why the Kangen machine struggles to reach over a pH of 10, and why some people have to add calcium glycerophosphate (a drug compound) to their Kangen machine to get acceptable pH levels.
Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)
One of the questions you hear all the time about the Kangen machine is: āWhy is it so expensive?ā The reason the Kangen machine is very expensive is that itās sold through multi-level marketing (MLM). This kind of marketing makes things more expensive than they should be because a whole lot of people get paid commissions anytime a product is sold through MLM.
Enagic tries to justify the high price of their machine by claiming that it takes a lot of platinum to coat its plates. But it takes more platinum to coat the plates in a Life Ionizer MXL9, yet the MXL9 is $2,597, which is $1,383 cheaper than the $3,980 Kangen machine. MLM marketing makes the Kangen machine roughly twice as expensive as it should be.
Yes, the Kangen machine can change your life ā for the worse
The ionized alkaline water made by a Kangen machine might be able to change your health for the better ā if it doesnāt contain any heavy metals like lead from your water supply. But it will definitely leave your finances decidedly less healthy. Enagic representatives claim that you can earn you money back if you sell Kangen machines, but what they donāt tell you is that less than 1% of people who try multi-level marketing ever succeed at it. Selling Kangen machines could leave your relationships unhealthy too. Enagic urges you to market the machine to friends and family, but who likes getting (or giving) a hard sales pitch? If you want the health benefits of ionized alkaline water, you are better off avoiding the high-priced Kangen machine

It seems like you're interested in water ionizers, specifically comparing the Kangen water machine by Enagic with other options like Life Ionizers. Water ionizers manipulate water's pH levels, creating alkaline water that some believe has health benefits. The Kangen machine boasts a high pH level without the use of chemicals, but it's significantly more expensive than alternatives like the Life Ionizers MXL7 or MXL9. The debate centers on whether the Kangen machine justifies its price tag through its claimed benefits and features.
Here's a breakdown of concepts related to the article:
-
Alkaline Water Ionizers: Devices that raise the pH of water, creating alkaline water believed to offer health benefits.
-
pH Levels: Measurement of how acidic or alkaline a substance is. Kangen claims to reach a pH of 10 without chemicals.
-
Chemicals in Water Treatment: The article discusses how the Kangen machine can reach higher pH levels by adding chemicals, but these make the water toxic for drinking.
-
Filtering: Kangen's single filter is criticized for being inadequate in dealing with toxins present in tap water, such as heavy metals like lead.
-
Machine Power: The Kangen machine's large plates lack sufficient power to achieve higher pH levels without additional chemical assistance.
-
Multi-Level Marketing (MLM): Business model used by Enagic to sell Kangen machines, which some argue inflates the price due to commissions and marketing costs.
-
Price Comparison: Comparing the price of the Kangen machine to alternatives like the Life Ionizers MXL7 and MXL9, indicating that Kangen is significantly more expensive.
-
Health Benefits and Risks: Discussion about the potential health benefits of ionized alkaline water versus the financial risks associated with purchasing the Kangen machine, especially through MLM.
-
Customer Testimonials and Inquiries: Comments from readers expressing interest in purchasing such machines and seeking further information regarding their claims and functionality.
If you're considering purchasing a water ionizer, it's crucial to weigh the claimed benefits against the machine's cost, filtration capability, and overall effectiveness. Conducting thorough research and perhaps seeking independent reviews can help in making an informed decision.
