Welcome to IGN’s walkthrough for Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This section will guide you through the steps required to unlock the secret party member.
Who is the Secret Party Member?
There are seven party members available to recruit while playing through Yakuza: Like a Dragon. Six of these party members will automatically join you during your playthrough, while one of the party members is optional (and potentially missable).
The “secret” party member is Eri Kamataki, your business partner at Ichiban’s Confections (aka the Business Management simulator) who you met during Substory 15: Ijincho’s Safety Net in Chapter 5.

How to Unlock the Secret Party Member
In order to unlock Eri Kamataki, you’ll first need to complete Nick Ogata’s requests while playing through the Business Management simulation minigame. The main thing you need to focus on is breaking into the Top 100 companies.

After you’re in the Top 100 companies, you’ll see a short cutscene between Kasuga and Eri where they celebrate their achievement. Kasuga will recommend grabbing drinks and Eri will head to Survive Bar.
Exit the business and make your way over to Survive Bar where you’ll see Eri sitting at the bar with a conversation bubble above her head. Speak with her and you’ll enter a conversation where she eventually asks to join your party.
Kasuga will hesitate at first, but eventually he will welcome Eri into your party where you’ll be able to use her in battle.
How to Raise Eri’s Bond Level
Eri’s bond level does not raise through conversations like other party members, instead you need to continue completing Nick Ogata’s subsequent requests to raise her bond level.
