Why did Goku never kiss Chichi? ›

The thing about Goku never having kissed Chi Chi was a mistranslation of a joke that only made sense in Japanese. Goku meant he had never kissed someone in public (something rare in Japan) and Vegeta misinterpreted it to mean he had never kissed someone, at all.

By Goku's own admission this is true: he has never kissed Chichi. However, when he was speaking about “kissing” he was referencing how Future Trunks kissed Future Mai on the lips, and was only speaking about lip-kissing. You see, Goku didn't know what kissing was, and only assumed it meant locking lips.

Goku does know what kissing is. Remember, he promised Old Kai that he could kiss Bulma and he knew enough about kissing that he knew Bulma(and Vegeta) would be angry at him for making such a promise. That scene in the Future Trunks arc of DBS was just for comedic purposes.
