Welcome to IGN’s walkthrough for Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This section covers Chapter 9: House Of Cards where you'll infiltrate Bleach Japan in hopes of saving the Great Wall.

Chapter 9: House Of Cards

Chapter 9 opens like the previous chapters - with a handful of cutscenes setting up the story. You'll also gain access to the Survive Bar's upstairs area which allows you to heal up using the Recovery Point and deposit items into the Item Box.

Shortly after gaining control of the party, you'll receive a call from Hamako warning you about some Yakuza searching for you around her brothel. Head south to Hamako's place to investigate for yourself.

When you arrive, you'll see a group of men surrounding Hamako and a cutscene will begin. After saving Hamako, you'll be forced to fight the men.

Fight: Yamato Totsuka

You'll be up against Seiryu Clan Chief of HQ Totsuka (Lv. 25) as well as four Lv. 24 Seiryu Clan Members: Inaba, Utsumi, Takemoto, and Shoji.

Focus on taking out the Sieryu Clan Members first, as they have less HP. Most are weak to physical attacks as well as slash attacks. Once Totsuka is left alone, focus on utilizing powerful Skills and don't worry about MP since you'll be able to heal up nearby at the homeless camp. He's weak to Kasuga's bat attacks and also weak to electric damage.

Protecting the Great Wall

After the fight, you'll get a call from Zhao providing you with information on your next move. Heal up at the homeless camp and proceed across town towards the Geomijul hideout. When you approach the map marker you'll find a group of Bleach Japan protestors outside and have a conversation with Kume, followed by a fight.

Fight: Sota Kume

Time for a rematch. You'll be facing Bleach Japan Branch Manager Kume (Lv. 25) and five Lv. 24 Bleach Japan members: Ishibashi, Senda, Nagai, Toda, and Hino.

Utilize similar tactics as the previous fight against Totsuka by thinning out the smaller enemies first before turning your attention to Kume. Once you've got him singled out, focus on utilizing Kasuga's bat attacks for massive damage, as well as physical attacks as he's weak to most of the party members' abilities.

After the fight, you'll be healed up automatically and see a group of Bleach Japan members just ahead. When examining the group, you'll be asked if you're ready before entering. Make sure your party is around level 25 and has optimal gear equipped. It's also recommended that you have Saeko continue in the Idol role to assist with healing during the upcoming fights.

If you want to grind out some levels you can fight the roaming enemies in the area. Unfortunately, most of the streets are blocked off and you're limited to a very small section of the city. Once you're ready to proceed, enter the crowd for a short cutscene followed by an immediate fight.

Fight: Bleach Japan

This fight is against five Omi Alliance Members: Sekiguchi (Lv. 26), Kawakami (Lv. 25), Tani (Lv. 24), Ogura (Lv. 25), and Muraoka (Lv. 25).

Because of the narrow street, area attacks work well here to dish out damage to multiple enemies at once. After the lower-level enemies have fallen, focus on Sekiguchi. He's resistant to most physical attacks, but does take extra damage from Kasuga's bat as well as slice damage.

After the fight, you'll see a short cutscene followed immediately by another fight. This time, it's against another piece of heavy machinery.

Fight: Heavy Machinery

This fight is against Heavy Demolition Machinery Wrecking Ball Crane (LV. 26). As with the previous Heavy Machinery fight, this one is actually against the machine itself and it's driver, Reiji Ishioda.

Have Kasuga and Adachi focus on Skill attacks to deal heavy damage to the wrecking ball. Saeko should focus on healing as well as buffs/debuffs.

Ishioda and the wrecking ball both share the same health bar and once you drop it down by a third, Reiji will be thrown out to fight you. He'll initially be stunned, so focus on dealing big damage to him while he can't attack.

After dropping his health down further, he'll jump back into the wrecking ball to try and finish you off. When the wrecking ball raises the crane into the air, guard to minimize the amount of damage you receive. Otherwise, keep up with the heavy Skills and you should finish it off rather easily.

Following the fight, the group will flee the scene and you'll receive a call from Joon-gi telling you to meet at a nearby restaurant called Eomeoni's Vow.

The restaurant is straight ahead on the right, but before entering make sure to heal up your HP/MP with any items you may have and save your game, as the final fight of the chapter is coming up shortly. When you're ready, speak with the woman inside to head to the back of the restaurant.

After a few cutscenes, you'll be in front of a set of double doors with an Item Box to the right. Make any final preparations and speak with Adachi when you're ready.

Boss Fight: Reiji Ishioda & Yu Nanba

The final fight of the chapter is against Former Friend Nanba (Lv. 27), Ishioda Family Patriarch Ishioda (Lv. 27) and two Lv. 25 Bleach Japan members: Sugimoto and Fujita.

Focus on taking out the Bleach Japan members first as they have the smallest health bars and can call for backup to prolong the fight. Area attacks work well here, too, as the space is fairly limited and you can deal damage to multiple enemies easily.

advertisem*nt

After they fall, turn your attention to Nanba, utilizing powerful Skills to eliminate him. Make sure to heal with Saeko when needed and focus on debuffing the enemies to gain the upper hand.

Once you're left with just Ishioda, utilize the same tactics as you used on Nanba. The only difference is he has the ability to counter your attacks, so Saeko's healing is important to ensure nobody falls. He's weak to ice and electric attacks, so if you have any elemental Skills those can provide useful here.

When Ishioda's health falls below 50%, he'll become more aggressive and begin frequently firing gunshots at your party. Utilize strong Skills to maximize your damage and summon any Poundmates you have available to aid you, if possible. As always, Kasuga's Essence of Mayhem can deal some serious damage, too.

Following the fight, you'll see some final cutscenes before ending Chapter 9.

What is the hardest fight in Yakuza: Like A Dragon? ›

The hardest boss battle in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth pits the party against Majima, Saejima, and Daigo, three of Kiryu's former enemies, allies, and rivals from previous games in the Yakuza series. The party fights all of them at once, and despite their age, these three are as strong as they've ever been.

How long does it take to complete Yakuza: Like A Dragon? ›

Yakuza: Like a Dragon, which saw the series switch to its new turn-based role-playing game combat, balanced things a little with a 46-hour completion time for the main story, 68 hours for the side stories too, and 103 hours to do everything.

What level should I be to fight Majima? ›

The general consensus seems to be that you need to grind in the battle arena for a good bit until you're above level 40 and at job rank 20 (at least that worked with me).

What level should I be for the final boss in Yakuza: Like a Dragon? ›

For the final boss of the entire game you should probably be at least high 50s or low 60s , or else they'll mop the floor with you. you still have a lot of time to get there, without spoiling anything there are 2 good grinding opportunities in chapter 12 and the final chapter.

What is Kiryu weak to Like A Dragon? ›

He's weak against Ice. Here's one major trick to fighting Kiryu; he will not attack women (and according to the series director, it's likely why he won't appear as a guest character in fighting games). Bring Saeko and Eri into the fight and Kiryu will ignore them.

Which Yakuza game is hardest to 100%? ›

Some Yakuza games, like the first one, are relatively easy to 100 percent completion in around 30.5 hours. Yakuza Kiwami 2 introduces more content, requiring about 77.5 hours for a completionist run. Yakuza 5 is the longest game in terms of completion time, with around 150 hours needed to fully complete it.

In the original Yakuza, later remade as Yakuza Kiwami, Kiryu is introduced as a 27-year-old member of the Dojima crime family, but circ*mstances force him to spend ten years in prison; thus he is age 37 for the majority of the game.

Can you miss anything in Yakuza: Like a Dragon? ›

There is no missable content. You can complete everything as long as you finish the last chapter and unlock the Premium (not NG+) mode. There's very rarely anything missable in RGG games. Actually I did find character-specific armour (not the class specific ones you can find) in one of the plot related dungeons.

Can you date in Yakuza: Like a Dragon? ›

While it may seem surprising, Yakuza: Like a Dragon has six different romance options that you can pursue. Most of these romance options have a reward, but there's also a big bonus that you'll get from dating them all.

Is it ok to start with Yakuza: Like a Dragon? ›

If the thought of catching up on eight Yakuza games fills you with dread, Yakuza: Like A Dragon is your next-best starting option. It's very much a clean-break from the mainline Yakuza series and takes place after the events of Yakuza 6.

What level should you be to beat Like A Dragon? ›

Yakuza: Like a Dragon

The final story boss? Early 40s and you'll be fine. No need to ever go in any dungeon / underground / sewers.

What level should I be for Final Boss: Infinite Wealth? ›

Probably around 48 or so. I did the EX dungeon bosses before finishing the game so I went into the finale at level 55 and all the fights were hard stomps. If you can beat Chapter 12, you can pretty much finish the main story.

Do not ignore the warning sign that's posted here; you will want everyone to be at least 90+ in both level and job rank before even thinking about attempting this (level 99 for both is ideal).
