Can you cast mage armor on multiple targets? ›

You can cast this spell on all party members then dismiss the caster from the party and this buff will persist.

You can cast Mage Armor on yourself at will at 1st level, without expending a spell slot or material components. If your Warlock spell level is greater than 1st level, you may alternatively cast Mage Armor once at your current Warlock spell level without expending a spell slot.

What we have here is if you wear an armor you cannot cast MAGE ARMOR on yourself or on someone which wear an armor (this includes some helmet, gloves, boots). If you remove those armors (+ helmets, gloves, etc.) you will be able to cast it now.

Any spell effects you had active on you stay on you when you're polymorphed. If you had say mage armor active and got turned into a squirrel, you're now a squirrel with mage armor.

Also starting at level 6, you can have more than one mage hand active at a time. When you have one mage hand active, you can cast another one as a bonus action. Controlling this secondary hand uses your bonus action. Dismissing this mage hand also costs your bonus action.

Actually, the Invocation version of Mage Armor can only be cast on yourself. Take it as a spell - don't waste a feat or invocation on it. The only time I'd take it as an invocation is if your adventurer is a warlock AND there're several other adventurers in the party that don't wear armour and that you can cast it on.

Mage armor is an AC calculation. Cloak of protection is an AC bonus. AC calculations can't stack with other calculations, but AC bonuses can stack with anything (as long as they dont say otherwise). As long as you dont have a set AC on you, like a monks unarmored defense, you can.

Spell, feature, or item that changes the function on how AC is calculated will not stack. So Mage Armor will not stack with Unarmored Defense or normal armor calculation as those abilities change how your AC is calculated. You choose one or the other but normally it is the highest AC calculation that gets pick.

1 Answer. Yes, Mage Armor continues to work as long as your beast form is unarmored (no barding!). This doesn't 'stack' with whatever AC the beast form has, however- you pick either the beast's normal AC, or the 13 + Dexterity modifier from the Mage Armor.

It's exactly the same thing — they exclude each other. You may have only one type of base armor active. The advantage is that it cannot be dispelled and you don't waste spell slot/wand/scroll/potion for it. with that said draconic res is still pretty nice as u dont have to use mage armor for yourself.
