Whose ally is Turkey?
As we celebrate the 60th anniversary of our NATO membership, Turkey has been a staunch Ally of NATO and considers the Alliance as the linchpin of the Transatlantic ties and Euro-Atlantic security. NATO is known as the most successful defense alliance in the history.
Current official relations were established in 1934 and Turkey recognized the People's Republic of China (PRC) on 5 August 1971. Turkey conforms to the One-China policy and recognizes the PRC as the sole legal representative of China.
In 2001, the relationship began with the premise of the United States' fostering cooperation on counterterrorism, law enforcement, and military training and education. Turkey remained a close ally of the United States and provided support in the War on Terror.
As a close partner of both Russia and Ukraine, Turkey is actively attempting to broker a peaceful solution to the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, and has hosted a number of high-profile negotiations between the two countries.
Since the Cold War, Turkey's most important ally has been the United States, which shared Turkey's interest in containing Soviet expansion.
Location. Izmir Air Base and living in Izmir, Turkey is a hidden gem for US personnel. The NATO base is located about 15 minutes from the city of Izmir, a modern and extremely large city on Turkey's western coast with a population of approximately 3 million people.
Turkey has been a member of NATO since 1952, has its second largest army and is the host of the Allied Land Command headquarters. The Incirlik and Konya Airbases have both been involved in several NATO military operations since their establishment. The current Ambassador to NATO is Basat Ă–ztĂĽrk.

TĂĽrkiye recognized Ukraine's independence on 16 December 1991. Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on 3 February 1992. Relations between TĂĽrkiye and Ukraine gained the status of strategic partnership, with the establishment of High Level Strategic Council (HLSC) in 2011.
Too many individual factors come into play. Travelers—including Americans—are still going to Turkey and most find a warm welcome, low prices, and all the beauties and advantages that made Turkey the world's sixth most popular tourism destination a few years ago.
Are Germany and Turkey allies?

Overall Mission: KĂĽrecik Radar Station is the only US Army base in Turkey, and they often partner with the US Air Force and Navy. Its main mission is related to missile interception and defense, with a goal of keeping the United States and its allies safe from missile and nuclear threats.
What country left NATO?
As of 2022, no member state has rescinded their membership, although it has been considered by several countries. Notwithstanding, a number of former dependencies of NATO members have never applied for membership subsequent to their becoming independent states.

Which countries like Turkey?
Azerbaijan is by far the most similar country to Turkey. The most similar language to Turkish is Azeri. The populations of both countries are mostly Muslim, although Azeri are mostly Shia, in contrast to Turkey.
Turkey finally declared war on Germany in late February 1945. But at no time were they active combatants for the Allies. Turkey's neutrality during the war blocked Germany's access to the Middle East, thereby depriving Germany of an Arab alliance.
Since 2012, Poland, Turkey, and Romania have maintained regular contact within the Trilog format for close cooperation as the three largest countries on the eastern flank of NATO. Since 2021, a Polish military contingent has been stationed in Turkey as part of a NATO operation to help secure Turkey's borders.
