Yep, the Hottest Pepper in 2022 is still the Carolina Reaper! The wickedly hot Carolina Reaper is still holding the Guinness World Record crown again in 2022 for being the world's hottest pepper.
As a baseline, bell peppers have a score of zero on the Scoville scale; jalapeños, which have medium heat, have about 2,500-8,000 SHU (scoville heat units).

The Dragon's Breath pepper, as it's been named, reportedly measures 2.48 million on the Scoville heat units scale.
The ghost pepper is a cultivar of Capsicum chinense, as are spicy Scotch bonnet and habanero peppers. The ghost pepper has an average of about 1 million Scoville Heat Units (SHU), compared to a jalapeño with around 8,000 SHU or a habanero with up to 350,000 SHU.

What are yellow hot peppers called?

What is the easiest hot pepper to grow?
If you don't want to wait too long for germination, Capsicum Annuum are probably the easiest to grow.
