Bismark. This premium and decadent donut includes more dough, filling and topping due to its rectangular shape. Depending on your location, the name and build of this donut may vary! Down South, this may be called a Long John, and could be unfilled and tossed in powdered sugar or cinnamon sugar.
By the end of the century, jelly doughnuts were also called Bismarcken, after Chancellor Otto von Bismarck. Due to the large number of central European immigrants, jelly doughnuts are known as bismarcks in parts of the American Upper Midwest, in Alberta and Saskatchewan in Canada, and even in Boston, Massachusetts.
The difference between these and a basic doughnut is that paczki are made with a very rich, sweet yeast dough consisting of eggs, butter and milk. Sort of like a brioche doughnut, only better, if you can imagine!

Bavarian donut is a type of a filled doughnut that is made with soft, puffy fried dough with vanilla pastry cream filling and then coated with powdered sugar.
Cream puffs may have no more topping than a light dusting of powdered sugar. The éclair conversely may be filled with either whipped cream or a variety of custards, or custards mixed with cream. The usual éclair is also topped with melted chocolate or ganache.

Paczki is a Polish word (already in its plural form, paczek is the singular form) meaning package. Traditionally paczki are made before the Catholic Lent holiday in preparation for Easter. Families were to use all of their sweets and butters before the religious holiday; so paczki were created.
