Is a good writer born or made?
The takeaway for all writers is that we can improve, and we are not bound by an inborn, set level of writing talent. Good writers are not born. They are learned.
But what makes a book good? A captivating story and character development are always key indicators for me, which explains why I would much rather read a book than watch a movie. The author needs to be able to write the story in a way that attracts a reader and keeps the reader's attention.
A good reader makes a good writer. Only a person who reads a lot and has extensive knowledge can write well. One also needs to be a good listener to be a good writer—who is capable of taking feedback and criticism. Feedback is important for a writer's growth and so is interaction with fellow litterateurs and readers.
Reading exposes you to a variety of writing styles.
Reading different styles of books can help you focus on the mechanics and stylistic choices that make various genres of writing work. Approaching varied works of literature with an eye on the authors' stylistic tendencies will help you find your own style.
To be an effective writer requires using words and sentences as tools to express ideas and emotions in a way that is distinct to you. Great writers—whether they are fiction authors, historians, memoirists, poets, or bloggers—must work to find their own voice.
An essay should have a single clear central idea. Each paragraph should have a clear main point or topic sentence. Each paragraph should support or expand the central idea of the paper. The idea of each paragraph should be explained and illustrated through examples, details, and descriptions.
Sharp dialogue: Good books are filled with sharp, memorable dialogue. Bestsellers contain dialogue that advances the plot, demonstrates your characters' personalities, and adds texture to the world of your story.
Readers want a plot and characters that keep them engaged. Also mentioned frequently were uninteresting characters and overdone descriptions. Farther down the list, but still worth mentioning were grammar mistakes and spelling errors. For authors, this means plot and characters need to be a primary focus.
Reading is one of the most effective ways to improve your writing skills. Reading regularly exposes you to a variety of ideas that improve your writing. Reading also makes you familiar with different writing styles, expands your vocabulary, and helps you discover innovative ways to use words.
It helps us relate to other people and encourages us to be kind and considerate of other people's feelings. As it turns out, reading can actually help improve empathy. When people read stories about other people's lives, it helps them develop the skills to understand the world through another person's perspective.
Who is considered a good reader?
Good readers read texts in different ways, looking at the layout and headings, and reading quickly to get a general feel for the text (skimming), before reading more intensively or to find specific details (scanning).
A good reader comprehends the writing, understands what the author is trying to say, and absorbs as much knowledge as possible to learn and grow.

Creativity is a trait every good writer has. Good writers task themselves to bring out new ideas or present old or common things in new and exciting ways. They choose words that convey their thoughts best. A lazy writer will use “lovely” to describe a lady, a car, a dress, a baby, a voice, a house, and a handwriting.
The truth is, anyone can become a writer. With that being said, you want to remember that it does not happen overnight. Even the best writers had to start somewhere before they became successful. It does take a lot of hard work and dedication.
