WHAT IS DEEP FRIED WATER?

You must be thinking that deep fried water is just another fancy word for boiling water. But that’s not the case here. It is made using a chemical compound named calcium alginate — a gelatin-like substance made from chemicals such as aqueous calcium chloride and aqueous sodium alginate. These two chemical substances tend to bind the water in a form of a liquid membrane, according to Vice News.

The concept of deep fried water first surfaced on the internet in 2016. Jonathan Marcus, a food blogger, chef and fried food aficionado, uploaded a video on his YouTube page in which he coated water in flour, panko crumbs, and eggs (optional in case you are vegan), and fried around 12 globules in peanut oil.

Meanwhile, James’s video of deep fried water has gone viral as well with over nine lakh views so far. He also issued a warning to those interested in trying deep fried water because it could lead to a fatal accident in case not done properly.

Social media users shared their thoughts and opinions in the comments section of the post. “You can do anything if you try,” a user said. Another user added, “#Deepfriedwater tho. You gotta be kidding me.”

It sounds a bit comical to actually fry water and eat it rather than drinking given that water and oil are two different chemical compounds and do not mix with each other.

Even though there is no taste of deep fried water, but we would definitely advise you to be careful if you are interested in trying this out.
