Strategy
Float Highway (Foggy)
Simply defeat Akira on Float Highway (Foggy) to clear the substory. Try to have a good memory of the course before taking on Akira as the poor visibility caused by the weather may give you problems driving. You can also glance at the map quickly during the race instead to guide you on which way to turn.
Use Crimson Fire or Ignition Shadow
Crimson Fire and Ignition Shadow are good choices to take on Akira but which one to use largely depends on how good you are at driving. The Crimson Shadow is a well-balanced kart that is very easy to use while the Ignition Shadow focuses on speed but may prove a bit challenging to handle when tackling corners.
Try to have your kart fully-upgraded before the race as well since Akira is a lot tougher to beat than all of the rivals you have encountered thus far.
Pick up Dash and Rocket Launcher
You may need to pick up items such as Dash and Rocket Launcher just to keep up with Akira’s driving. Note that it is entirely possible to win without relying on items so only get them if you think you really need to.
