Leaving the toilet seat up or down has played a partin the battle of the sexes for ages, but evidence now suggests that there is more to it than personal preference.According to this June 16 news article featured on CNN, "... a new computer modelling study shows how a flushing toilet can send a cloud of little particles containing fecal matter into the air --now there is a sobering thought!
Toilets sold for use in yourhomefeature a lid on the seat. Most people would concede that the toilet simply looks better when the seat and lid are closed, (which is why manufacturers photograph them this way!)

But those lids are actually animportant part of reducing the spread of bacteria and were designed to help keep your bathroom cleaner.
Every time you flush a toilet, germs can spread through the bathroom through micro-particles escaping into the air. This is not good news for your otherwise clean and shiny bathroom. You want the bathroom to be an environment of relaxation and respite so, cleanliness really counts. Calming showers and luxurious baths are high points inour day but thoughts ofgerms can be somewhat deflating.
