The first gods were Arnu, the god of magic, Ishgala, the goddess of life and depending on the specific teachings Balashmir, the guardian of the planes. They were created by The Darkness and The Light in the The Elemental Sea.
The Arnu and Ishgala went on to create the Astral Plane where they lived with their children and the partners of them, created by pure live induced magic.
Throughout the ages they created many more planes and populated them with different races like Caltora and its many inhabitants.

Seeking more power Phendor, the god of death, enslaved the Elemental Being, known as The Time and created the concept of mortality and thanks to his father Ismir, the god of trickery, Phendor was able to write it into the Tome of natural laws and make it an everlasting part of the world.
Thousands of years later, Phendor tried to gain access to the Tome again and only was stopped at the last second by Balashmir. When questioning Phendor, he got increasingly impatient with the lack of an explanation. After witnessing Balashmir preparing to torture Phendor, which may or may not have been an illusion by Ismir, the god of trickery, Urdelia, the goddess of war, mother of Phendor struck down Balashmir and freed her son.
The resulting conflict resulted in the banishment of Shifters from the plane of Caltora as well as the banishment of Urdelia and Phendor from the Astral Plane.
The second war of the gods
(Main article: The second war of the gods)
While his wife and son were in exile, Ismir, the god of trickery, continued to visit the halls and temples of his family, helping wherever he could, to regain their trust, loyalty and friendship. Through his relentless efforts and thanks to his wife Urdelia, the goddess of war, and son Phendor, the god of death, not using their powers, he arranged for them to visit Astral Plane to attend a banquet. There, they attempted once again to seize power by killing or subjugating the other gods.
However, thanks to the foresight of Idlia, the goddess of wisdom, the other gods were armed and ready for an attack and when the fight broke out, only Jarla, the goddess of luck, the wife of Gimrid, the god of craft, died. Gimrid died after constructing the tomb for his wife, which made Ismir end the conflict to attend the funeral of his lost brother. After that he went into voluntary exile with his wife and son.
