The Complete List of Monthly Dividend ETFs Paying 3%-Plus Distributions (2024)

While exchange-traded funds (ETFs) offer easy diversification and straightforward trading, monthly dividend ETFs provide the additional benefit of a steady cash flow for income-seeking investors.

Advertisem*nt.

This is especially beneficial to fixed-income investors who rely on this cash flow to cover their monthly living expenses. Another group that can benefit greatly from monthly dividend ETFs are part-time investors who already have a steady source of income. Professional investors have the time and resources to perform in-depth market analysis. However, many individual investors with full-time employment aim to choose the best equities for their portfolio without committing significant amounts of time and resources into equity research.

Traditionally, these part-time investors would invest in mutual funds. However, because of several advantages over mutual funds, ETF’s – and especially monthly dividend ETFs – have been gaining popularity as the investment vehicle of choice.

ETF shares are easy to acquire as they trade like stocks. Additionally, ETFs also offer better liquidity and tax advantages over mutual funds. Below is a list of those that currently offer distributions in excess of 3%.

It should be noted that this article was updated on November 6, 2022, as the economy is recovering from the financial crisis brought on by the global COVID-19 pandemic. Some ETFs that typically pay more than 3% have taken a hit as a result of the financial crisis. As the economy recovers, ETFs that have taken a hit may rebound in conjunction with the market and return to a place where they once again pay 3%-plus.
