The Best Way To Reheat Pizza (2024)

By Domino's on 27-11-20 in

It’s the morning after the night before, and you’ve found yourself wondering the best way to reheat pizza. It’s rare but it happens – you ordered your favourite pizza from the Domino’s menu and you’ve found yourself with a slice or two leftover, rather than devouring the lot in one go.

Well, don’t fret. We know a thing or two about serving up hot, tasty pizza. You’ve got a few options, whether at home for what we like to call a Breakfast Of Champions, or a leftovers office lunch with limited kitchen supplies.

Can You Reheat Leftover Pizza?

It’s safe to reheat pizza the next day, as long as you’re heating to a temperature that would kill any bacteria off. An oven, air fryer, frying pan, and microwave are all viable options, but some methods work better than others.

So don’t just whack your pizza in there and hope for the best! Your Domino’s deserves better treatment than that. Read on to find out which of our tried-and-tested methods will work best for reheating your pizza of choice.

How To Reheat Pizza In The Oven

We’d recommend the oven as the best way to a delicious, reheated pizza (after all, that’s how your piping hot pizza was cooked by Domino’s chefs in the first place!)

Preheat your oven to 190°C (170°C for fan ovens) and transfer your leftover pizza slices onto a tray with foil. Level up your crusts with a drizzle of olive oil or for the heat-lovers amongst you, chilli-infused olive oil first.

Pop your pizza slices in and cook for 10-15 minutes – you’re looking for crispy crusts and gloriously melty cheese. Plate up and enjoy!

How To Reheat Pizza in Air Fryer

We get it, time isn’t on your side and you need something to eat pronto. Enter the air fryer.

Place your pizza in the air fryer with a little space between each slice – a standard sized air fryer will usually take two slices comfortably. Set the temperature to 190°C and cook for 3-4 minutes until the cheese is melted and the crust is crispy.

We recommend keeping an eye on things because you don’t want your carefully selected toppings ending up burnt!

How To Reheat Pizza In A Frying Pan

Use a frying pan or cast-iron skillet to get an ultra-crispy crust on your leftovers. They apply very high heat to the base of the pizza, so cover with a lid after a minute of cooking to ensure that glorious cheese and all your toppings cook at the same time.

Cook for around 5 minutes or until the cheese is bubbling beautifully. *chefs kiss*

Can You Microwave Pizza?

This definitely isn’t our first choice but sometimes desperate times lead to desperate measures (think office kitchen).

Spread your pizza slices out on a plate to ensure even cooking. Grab a mug of water (half full) and pop it in the microwave for 30 seconds with your plate of pizza. The water supposedly prevents the miserable soggy slice that is so common with microwaved reheating.

Which Pizza Will You Be Having For Leftovers Tomorrow?

Our hats go off to anyone with the willpower that doesn’t scoff the whole lot in one sitting. Make your way to our Deals page and you’ll find a tonne of meal deals and vouchers waiting for your next order. Question is, which pizza will you be serving up as seconds tomorrow?
