Wish you could leave all your troubles behind, and escape on a tropical vacation where you’re resting lazily on the beach with a cold drink in hand? While this may sound quite tempting, it’s not easy to drop everything and go at a moment’s notice.

Luckily, you can come pretty close to this experience with a little help from your friends at Hawaiian Shaved Ice, and you won’t even bust through your budget. All you’ll need is a shaved ice or snow cone machine, and a bottle of Hurricane flavored shaved ice and snow cone syrup.

What makes Hurricane such a popular and remarkable syrup flavor? Let’s find out in today’s syrup spotlight edition.

What is Hurricane?
Hurricane is a tropical co*cktail that is a combination of rum and fruit juices. It dates back to 1940 in New Orleans at a tavern called Pat O’Brien’s. Due to World War II, it was difficult for the tavern to obtain whisky, which was particularly scarce at the time.

As a result, O’Brien was forced to purchase a large stock of rum. He mixed together a considerable amount of rum with some fruit juice to create a truly refreshing drink. It was named “hurricane” after the hurricane lamp-shaped glasses that the drinks were first served in, and is a favorite vacation co*cktail to this day.

Generally, a hurricane consists of light rum, dark rum, passion fruit syrup or grenadine, orange juice, lime or lemon juice, and ice. Additional fruits like cherries or pineapples can be added as well.

If you love the flavor of the classic hurricane co*cktail, then you don’t need to spend money on all those extra ingredients to enjoy it in your own home. Just whip up a batch of fresh, fluffy shaved ice, and pour a small sample of our Hurricane shaved ice and snow cone syrup on top.

The flavor of sweet rum and passion fruit shines through, yet it contains no alcohol, so shaved ice lovers of all ages can munch on a delicious sample of hurricane shaved ice. The rich, red color of this delightful syrup mimics that of the celebrated co*cktail. So take a trip to Bourbon Street in New Orleans without ever leaving your kitchen table!

To ensure that you always have enough hurricane syrup in stock, it’s conveniently offered in quart-size orgallon-sizecontainers, or as part of multi-pack.
