Monster Spawner
advertisem*nt
A monster spawner is an item in Minecraft that spawns hostile mobs. They can be found in dungeons, strongholds, abandoned Mine Shafts, and nether fortresses. They take the appearance of a cage, containing a fire- which does not give off actual light- inside of which, the particular mob the spawner creates spins. A spawner creates mobs on a timed delay, during which the mob inside will begin spinning faster and a burst of fire inside its self until the next mob spawns. The mob spawners are also often surrounded by either one or two chests. While playing on Peaceful however, the mob will spawn and subsequently disappear, a fraction of a second after spawning. Only if they would make it where u can get it in creative mode.

Tips
- Zombie spawners are the most common, and found in dungeons.
- Spider and skeleton spawners are also fairly common, also found in dungeons.
- Cave spider spawners are only located in abandoned Mine shafts
- Silverfish spawners are found only in the End Portal rooms in strongholds
- Blaze spawners are only found in The Nether inside strongholds. In fact, blaze spawners are the only spawners found in The Nether.
- The only way to obtain monster spawners is in 1.8. You must type in chat box /give [PLAYERNAME] mob_spawner [AMOUNT]. This will give you a spawner. Normally, it is a pig spawner, but you can change it by taking a spawn egg and right-clicking it. This will customize it to any mob that has a spawn egg.
Note: Spawners have different odds of being in a Dungeon; Zombie 50%, Skeleton 25% and Spider 25%.
Note: Spawners cannot be placed in Creative Mode
Note: Spawners cannot be harvested, only destroyed, in Vanilla Minecraft.
