The difference is subtle but vitally important
There’s no correlation between IQ and success.
As Nassim Taleb says:
“IQ is largely pseudoscientific swindle.”
Intangibles are much more important. It’s not enough to have awareness, you have to be able to apply your knowledge in a way that makes a difference to your life and those around you.
The decisions you make with the knowledge you have is much more important than the knowledge itself.
The following examples will make everything I said above crystal clear.
Intelligent people understand a lot about their domain or narrow level of expertise. Wise people draw from a wide variety of sources.
They know a little bit about a lot, which gives them the upper hand when dealing with people who are much more ‘intelligent’ than they are.
