So I have found a "time line" of the princesses and a list with each that has a time period and location with each. I found the part where they said that Aurora could be Italian. Somehow I see her as Italian over the English/French/German debate.
There was a foot note about how blond hair was worn loose, off the shoulder gowns were popular... What do you all think?

Those were common Renaissance fashions, so she could be from any European country. I see being Italian as unlikely because she's so fair, unless there was albino blood in the family.

However, the Italian side might be supported since her name means "dawn" in Latin. But the setting doesn't look like Italy-too forested, and the characters all have long sleeves, pointing to cool temperatures, both of which do not point to a mediterranean climate.

She is from an ancient story book from central Italy.
Actually, there are many forest of chesnuts and walnuts trees in italy (..Nutella..you know..), but as you go up the mountains you can find plenty of pines and birches. As Italy have long history, full of invasions, there are many blond blue eyes people ( I'm italian, with (really really) pale skin, green ayes and red beard). Largest part of the Italian territory have a temperate climate, and in winter is common to se some snow, especially in mountain regions, have you ever heard of Alps? Well Alps are in Italy. Italy have a mediterranean climate, only on the coasts. Please study geography and history.

He misspoke--the clothing reveals the film actually took place in the 15th Century, aka the 1400's.

I like the idea of Aurora being Italian. I would add more countries that are represented through the princesses.

I agree with Aurora being Italian, but we never seem to know what the Disney princesses'cultures are.

Many of them are pretty set though, you can tell where it's being set.
