More about Pallini Crema di Limoncello
Produced by: Pallini S.p.A.
I'm no stranger to the world of spirits and liqueurs, and Pallini Crema di Limoncello is no exception. This delightful "cream" limoncello hails from Italy, specifically the Amalfi Coast, and it's crafted with precision. Now, let's delve into the evidence that showcases my expertise.
Firstly, the proof of this limoncello stands at 30°, which translates to an alcohol by volume (alc./vol) of 15%. This particular detail points to a balanced and nuanced flavor profile, where the alcohol content contributes to the overall experience without overpowering the palate.
The vintage is marked as non-vintage, indicating that it's not tied to a specific year of production. This might suggest that the focus is on consistent quality, with the absence of vintage variations.
The aging process is noted as unaged, reflecting the choice to preserve the fresh and vibrant characteristics of the Amalfi Coast lemons. This decision aligns with the style of limoncello, where the essence of the fruit is a key feature.
Now, let's break down the ingredients. Water and sugar provide the base, while alcohol serves as the spirit component. Maltodextrin contributes to the texture, and the inclusion of vegetable fats from coconut imparts a creamy mouthfeel, making it a dairy-free and lactose-free option.
The natural flavor comes from the "Limone Costa d'Amalfi" P.G.I. lemon peel infusion, emphasizing the regional specificity and quality sourcing of ingredients. Soy protein is used, making it suitable for vegans, and an acidity corrector (E500) and coloring (E102) round out the formula, ensuring a well-balanced and visually appealing product.
As for the tasting notes, the appearance is described as opaque, pale cream yellow. The aroma captures the essence of fresh, fragrant, and zesty lemons. On the palate, the zesty lemon flavor is complemented by citrus acidity, softened by a creamy mouthfeel. The aftertaste leaves a lingering impression of creamy zesty lemon.
In conclusion, while it may be thinner in consistency compared to some cream liqueurs, Pallini Crema di Limoncello distinguishes itself by being dairy-free. This is a testament to Pallini's commitment to quality and innovation in the world of spirits.
