No Ice in Root Beer? (12)Posted: Tue Jun 01, 2004 4:01 pm Post subject: No Ice in Root Beer?No Ice in Root Beer? (13)

Hey, anyone know the history of why no one puts ice in root beer? Is there even history to this, or is it just because it would water the taste down? There has to be history, otherwise we would also drink sprite with no ice...
Thanks,

Root beer was originally made with yeast like beer. Likewise, it was served like beer (in mugs without ice). In fact, most beverages weren't served with ice in the late 1800s because ice wasn't readily available.
