Model making can be attempted at any stage of the design process. It is particularly useful when developing a design. When making a card model, record your thoughts and take photographs at every stage.
Write down what you think of the shape and form of the model, the size and proportions, the design and anything else that springs to mind, as you make the model. You could even write down what other people thought of your model, as it was being made. Record any difficulties you had when making the model and any changes you made to the original design. What do people think of the finished model? What improvements did they suggest?
Model making with corrugated card requires a small selection of equipment.

This includes:

PVA glue, a pair of scissors, a safety ruler, craft knife, sellotape and masking tape.

MODEL MAKING WITH CORRUGATED CARD (3)
The model to the right has had white card glued to the top and front. Also, images of speakers and an MP3 player have been added.

The model allows the designer to assess the overall proportions of the product and even the basic style. He / she can then make further models, until a final design is reached.
