Singapore offers exotic locales – from stunning skyscrapers, to period shophouses, to futuristic Gardens By The Bay, and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Singapore Botanic Gardens. Singapore has attracted big budget Hollywood productions such as ‘Hitman: Agent 47 (2015)’, ‘Equals (2015)’, ‘Crazy Rich Asians (2018)’, and HBO’s ‘Westworld (2019)’.

In general, permits are not required for filming on streets in Singapore, as long as there is no obstruction to vehicle or pedestrian traffic. For filming in shopping malls and commercial property, it is best to seek approvals and permissions directly from the owners. Please also inform nearby businesses or neighbours of your filming activities at least 3 working days in advance as a form of courtesy. It is also good practice to ensure that there is minimal disturbance caused during filming. In most cases, hiring a local production manager could greatly facilitate the location shooting process (both in terms of getting permits and cooperation/assistance from affected businesses).

Please refer to the online directory for the contacts of Singapore line producers. Non-Singaporean filmmakers seeking to film in Singapore are required to submit relevant documents to the Singapore Ministry of Manpower (MOM) and the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA).
