Today, I have decided to end the age-old debate, and that is which one is better? Ice cream or cake. I like both ice cream and cake. But the question still stands, if given a choice between the two, which one is better?
Ice cream is actually better than cake in a lot of ways. It is easily accessible, easy to make, has a lot of flavors, and can be used to make a lot of different things like sundaes, milkshakes, smoothies, and even cake. You can even preserve ice cream longer.
You don’t have to take my word for it. I’ll state some of the facts in favor of both and then, you can decide for yourself which one you prefer.
Why I Think That Ice Cream Is Better Than Cake
I have a lot of reasons to support my claim that ice cream is better than cake. I have mentioned them below.
1. Ice Cream Is Easy To Prepare
If you have ever baked a cake, you’ll know that it is a fuss to bake a cake. You have to measure ingredients very carefully. But there is a possibility that you might have made a mistake. The cake might sink while baking. There is also a chance of the cake burning. Also, nobody likes a dry cake. You’ll have to make frosting or ganache for it.
It’s a lot easier with ice cream. You just need your basic ingredients and an ice cream maker. You just have to churn the ice cream and freeze it. The preparation process is easy and doesn’t leave you with a mountain of dishes.
2. Ice Cream Is Easily Accessible
It is not possible to get a cake anywhere. You’ll have to find a bakery for it. Also, it should be a good one as you wouldn’t like a cake that is too dry or too soggy.
Ice cream, on the other hand, is a lot more accessible. You can easily get it at a store.
You can also get any flavor you like. Ice cream is also a lot easier to carry around and eat, unlike cake.
3. Ice Cream Can Be Used To Make A Lot Of Things
Ice cream is a lot more flexible than cake when used as an ingredient. You can make a different variety of dishes with ice creams. You can make smoothies, milkshakes, sundaes, fruit bowls and even cake. You can also use ice cream as a topper for dishes like waffles and pancakes.
4. Ice Cream Has A Lot Of Variety
Even though cake has a lot of flavors too, nothing can beat the variety of ice cream. You can get a huge variety of flavors, including mainstream as well as out-of-the-box. Mainstream flavors include chocolate, strawberry and butterscotch. The out of the box flavors get a bit more creative and include flavors like rainbow, bubblegum, mint chocolate chip and even, cookies and cream.
5. Ice Cream Can Be Stored For A Longer Time
Try storing the cake in the fridge for more than half a week, and you’ll find that it has become all dry and disgusting. You can’t eat a cake unless it’s fresh or at least a day old.
But ice cream, being a frozen food, stays put for a longer period of time. You can store it for a few weeks before it goes bad.
6. Ice Cream Is A Little Healthier Than Cake
Both ice cream and cake have sugar and dairy in them. But cake additionally has frosting. Frosting contains a high fat and sugar content. So, the same serving of ice cream and cake may vary a lot in nutritional value.
Why I Think That Cake Is Better Than Ice Cream

Cakes are synonymous with birthdays and overall happy occasions. Cutting cakes makes the celebration happier and we can’t disagree that cakes make the event more pleasant.

Cakes are sweet and delicious. They have frosting between the layers and on top and are overall a comfort food. All age groups can enjoy it, and it is a great dessert for people with a sweet tooth.

Ice cream wins the debate as it has a lot more points in its bag. Ice cream is a refreshing treat you can have any time. If you don’t like it frozen or find it cold, you can melt it and have it like that. You can also add a lot of things to ice cream, and it’ll still taste delicious. It also lasts longer and tastes fresh even after storing.
If you still can’t make up your mind, you can still have the best of both worlds. If you like cake and ice cream equally then, you should try ice cream cake. You’ll definitely love it.
