THE Gucci family are powerhouses in the world of fashion with a brand that still oozes elegance and class today.
House of Gucci was a successful film that introduced us to most of the fashion house but here is the full rundown of who's who in the fashion family.

Who are the members of the Gucci family tree?
The Gucci empire was founded in 1921 by Italian businessman Guccio Gucci in Florence, Tuscany.
Guccio was married to Aida Calvelli in 1901, with whom he had a total of six children, five sons (one of which was named Enzo, who died at the age of 9 in 1913) and a daughter.
After his death on January 2, 1953, the company was left to his five sons. his daughter Grimalda, was left without a role.
Ugo Calvelli Gucci
The eldest of Guccio's sons, Ugo was born Ugo Pelagalli in 1899 from his mother Aida's previous relationship.

He was later adopted by the businessman.
Almost nothing about him is known but he married Delia Vezzosi, born in 1897, with whom he had three children.
Ugo held an important role in his adoptive father's company, although it has not been specified.
He died in 1973.

Aldo Gucci

Aldo was born on May 26, 1905, and was therefore the eldest biological child of Guccio and Aida.
He is perhaps the most well-known of his brothers.
After growing an interest in equestrianism, he developed a passion for gardening.
At 16 years old, he worked part-time in his father's first shop in Florence.
He graduated from San Marco College in Florence and decided to work full-time in Guccio's shop.
He opened the first shop outside of Florence in 1938 and became increasingly dedicated to the expansion of his family's brand.
Aldo was chairman of all Gucci shops from 1953 to 1986.
This led him to travel to New York alongside his brothers Rodolfo and Vasco, in order to open the first American store, two weeks before Guccio's passing, in 1952.
Shops in Chicago, Palm Beach, Beverly Hills, Tokyo and Hong Kong soon followed.
Aldo became a household name after Ingrid Bergman was featured in Roberto Rossellini's film Viaggio in Italia with his bamboo handbag, in 1954.
He was branded the first Italian Ambassador to fashion by President John F. Kennedy and was even awarded an honorary degree by the City University of New York for his philanthropic activity.
Aldo was later described as the "Michelangelo of Merchandising."
When their brother Vasco passed away in 1974, Aldo and Rodolfo divided the family business amongst themselves.
First married to Olwen Price, with whom he had three sons named Giorgio, Paolo and Roberto, he had an affair with a woman called Bruna Palombo.
In 1963, she gave birth to a daughter named Patricia, out of wedlock.
Aldo went on to marry Bruna in Palm Springs in 1987.
He died of prostate cancer in Rome in January, 1990, at the age of 84 and was buried in the Gucci family mausoleum in Florence.

Rodolfo Gucci

Although a member of the House of Gucci, Guccio's middle child was more involved in his acting career.
Born on July 16, 1912, Rodolfo took on the stage name Maurizio D'Ancora and appeared in more than forty films between 1929 and 1946, after director Alfred Lind gave him his debut.
His most famous creation remains the Gucci Fiora scarf, made especially for Grace Kelly.
While he was given half of his family's company, following Vasco's death, Aldo's sons believed that he had not contributed enough to the business' growth.
This caused rivalry and tension in the family, as Aldo set up a perfume subsidiary, holding 80 per cent of ownership for himself and his three sons.
Rodolfo died in Milan in 1983 and was the father of Maurizio Gucci, born during his relationship with Italian film actress Sandra Ravel (1910-1954).
Giorgio Gucci
Aldo's eldest son made sure to learn whatever he could from his father.
He became a designer for the Gucci brand and his work was worn by many big stars such as Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Gina Lollobrigida, Jackie Kennedy and even Elizabeth Taylor with then-husband, Richard Burton.
He also had several hobbies as he grew the same interested for equestrianism his father once had.
He raised and cared for many horses for years in Monte Argentario in Grosseto, a province in Tuscany.
Giorgio's passion for horses was often introduced to Gucci's creations through equestrian motifs.
He died at the age of 92 in December, 2020.
Paolo Gucci

Paolo, Aldo's second son, also had a role in the fashion house, though it was short-lived.
He was in charge of a factory in Florence but then decided to move on from the family business.
Paolo started his own line under his name, according to website HITC.com.
He left Italy to move with his then-girlfriend in the south of England and allegedly filed for bankruptcy after selling his share of Gucci to Investcorp.
He died of chronic hepatitis on October 10, 1995.
Roberto Gucci

Not much is known about Roberto, the youngest of Aldo's sons.
He was born on November 29, 1932, in Florence and is known to have piloted the first Gucci franchised store in Brussels, Belgium.
Roberto is said to be married to Drusilla Caferelli, the mother of his six children, Cosimo (1956), Filippo (1957), Uberto (1960), Maria-Olympia (1963), Domitilla (1964), Francesco (1967).
Patricia Gucci

As mentioned above, Patricia is Aldo's only daughter, born from his relationship with Bruna Palombo on March 1, 1963.
Her parents met when Bruna was working at Gucci's flagship store in Rome but, as adultery was then illegal in Italy, they moved together to England.
Bruna and Aldo married when Patricia was 24 years old. By then, she'd been elected to Gucci's Board of directors.
She is now the founder and Creative Director of a travel lifestyle brand Aviteur, which was created in 2018.
Patricia wrote a memoir titled In the Name of Gucci in 2016, in which she reveals she learned of her father's second family and wife when she was 10 years old.
Mother to three daughters named Alexandra, Victoria and Isabella, Patricia married a music executive called Joseph Ruffalo, who worked with Prince and the band Earth, Wind & Fire.
The pair divorced in 2007 as Joseph was accused of sexually abusing Alexandra, 35 years old as of September, 2020.
Maurizio Gucci

Aldo's nephew and Rodolfo's only son.
Maurizio was born on September 26, 1948, and inherited his father's majority stake in the family company.
He launched a legal war against Aldo in order to gain full control of Gucci. The prosecution was even led by famous lawyer Rudy Giuliani.
In 1993, he sold his stock in Gucci for $170 million to Investcorp, five years after selling almost 47.8% of Gucci to the same investment fund.
When the company's finances were in the red, he was notably accused of spending extravagant amounts of money on its headquarters in both Florence and Milan.
He married socialite Patrizia Reggiani in 1972, with whom he had two daughters called Allegra and Alessandra.
After leaving her for another woman, which led to their 1991 divorce, he was romantically involved with Paola Franchi, which he reportedly planned on marrying.
He was fatally shot by a hitman his ex-wife Patrizia hired on March 27, 1995.

There is conflicting information about the net worth of the Gucci family.
