Having a tough time deciding what software to use to send invites? Well, I’ve used both for various events and hopefully my knowledge can help you decide.
Let’s get to it!
It all depends on what you value. One software is not necessarily better overall, but they each have their strengths.
Where Greenvelope beats Paperless Post
- More design selection. Greenvelope has a broader selection of designs to choose from. For example, Greenvelope had multiple Indian style designs to choose from whereas Paperless Post had 0 Indian designs.
- Nice touches to give your card the “wow” effect. When your invitees open your card, it animates on the screen and opens for them in a quite beautiful and elegant way. In addition, you can create a nice experience by adding audio to the card.
- Much more room for event specific content and information. With Greenvelope, you can add sections and customize the page pretty thoroughly to include all the information you need. For example, you can easily list multiple events per invite. Paperless Post assumes your event has one time and location (lame!).
- Send the same invite to multiple emails. With invites, you often send the same invite to an entire family. This process breaks down in Paperless Post, where to send the same invite to multiple email addresses, you have to send it to yourself and forward that email. In Greenvelope, you can easily associate multiple emails to the same invite. Definitely saves some embarrassment when one of your guests asks and wonders why they didn’t get an invite, but their wife did.
Now that we know where Greenvelope really shines we can take a look at Paperless Post.
Where Paperless Post beats Greenvelope
- App is both well-executed on mobile and desktop. Paperless Post makes sure font sizes and features are legible on mobile whereas Greenvelope sometimes makes things a little hard to read and sometimes downright unusable. You can do most actions through Paperless Post’s mobile apps or interface, whereas with Greenvelope it would not be fun to use their mobile site to do much.
- Flexible pricing. Paperless Post has free options for times when you don’t want to pay too much and has more pricey options for various features, plus it has everything in between.. You can essentially decide what you want to pay for the invites using their nifty coin system for customization. Greenvelope charges a decent amount and costs can certainly add up with no way to control them.
All in all, Greenvelope seems to offer a more robust feature set whereas Paperless Post focuses on mobile and flexible pricing. Both are great products in the space and certainly beat using snail mail for your invites.
