Succeeding in a game like Farming Simulator 22 takes a vast amount of understanding and practice. It's a relatively time-consuming game to play but one that keeps many players enjoying themselves for hours on end. All it takes is a few good machines and some well-planted crops to watch the time fly by and the money come raking in.

However, there are over 14 different crops to choose from and only a limited space to plant them. This is why it's important to prioritize certain crops to get the most profit for the least amount of space and time spent looking after them.
10 Sugar Beets
While it can be a little time-consuming to plant, Sugar Beets are easily one of the most profitable crops to have in Farming Simulator 22. This is predominantly due to the relatively low cost to buy the seeds initially and the fact that players will only need to buy them once.
Sugar Beets will not need replanting once they have been harvested, making them an extremely profitable crop to have in the long run. It may take a while to get the money back but since there's a very little cost it just makes sense to have a few around the farm.
9 Potatoes
Potatoes are surprisingly one of the more expensive crops to purchase in this farming game. However, it's not how much players spend on the crop and more how much they get back from them. In the instance of Potatoes, it's well worth doing.
The reward players will get from this harvest will bring them back a vast amount more than they spend on the initial planting. It's got a wonderful profit and is easy to plant and tend to. Due to all this, the Potato crop is relatively beginner-friendly and a great plant to prioritize.
8 Grapes
Grapes are one of the tougher crops to plant in Farming Simulator 22. It takes an accurate hand and the right measurements of the field to expertly optimize profit for the Grapes but once that has been mastered it's well worth it.

Interestingly this is one of the more entertaining and busy crops to harvest. There's a lot to it which will keep the farmer on their toes throughout. Another extremely useful element is the fact that, in the same way as the Sugar Beets, this crop won't need to be replanted.
7 Grass
Grass is often known as one of the quickest and most profitable crops in Farming Simulator 22. It's also considered one of the most useful and is something beginner players should be prioritizing throughout the game. This is primarily because it can be used for food, fuel, or profit and will succeed in most of those elements.
It has a good profit but the main reason for needing to plant this crop is due to the notion that players will need to make fuel and food for their animals if they choose to have any.
6 Cotton
If profit is the main aim for this simulator, then Cotton is one that players will need to plant as soon as they can. It can be made into clothing for a bit more money and is easily one of the most profitable crops to get hold of.
The only real setback is how expensive it is to both buy, plant, and harvest. The beginning of the game makes it relatively challenging to prioritize this crop even if the profit is so high. If players like taking a risk, then renting the required equipment for this might just be worth it.
5 Olives
In the same way that the Sugarcane and Grapes work, players will not need to replant Olives once they have been placed on a field. Again, it takes a bit of precision but this is the kind of crop players can plant with relative ease and still expect a decent profit without too much work.

4 Oats
Oats have multiple uses and are one of the best crops players should prioritize when starting up Farming Simulator 22. After all, Oats can be used for profit, animal bedding, and is a big part of manure production, which allows the farmer to get the most out of the crop.
The profit itself produces both Oats and Straw when harvesting, allowing for a multitude of uses and the kind of crop where farmers get everything they paid for, especially when the crop itself isn't too expensive to plant in the first place.
3 Barley

The only real issue is the fact that it's got quite a slow growth rate, often taking a long time to fully be ready for harvesting. So, while it does bring in a lot of uses and profit, if money is the main aim then there are quicker options.
2 Wheat
Wheat itself is undeniably one of the easiest crops to plant, take care of, and harvest. It's the most beginner-friendly of the 14 available crops in Farming Simulator 22 yet will still bring a tidy profit and can be used for other elements on the farm too.
It can be used to create flour that sells well, Chaff, or the player can feed it to their animals if they choose to have them on the farm. Nevertheless, with a side product of straw, Wheat has a vast amount of uses and is vital for any farmer.
1 Canola
Canola is one of the cheapest crops to purchase in Farming Simulator 22. This makes it one of the most accessible and the best choice for a beginner who's looking to learn how the game works without spending lots of money.
Canola can also be made into Canola Oil at the mill, which allows players to learn a bit more about the production side of the game while still managing to bring in a useful and relatively high profit from either the base crop or the oil itself.
