No company can match our rigor. On average, it costs $11,000 in ingredients, labor, and research to develop just one recipe. And every recipe is tested up to 40 times, each version tweaked and finessed until it can't be improved upon.

America's Test Kitchen is a very real 2,500-square-foot kitchen located just outside of Boston. It is the home of Cook's Illustrated magazine and Cook's Country magazine and is the Monday-through-Friday destination for more than four dozen test cooks, editors, food scientists, tasters, and cookware specialists.

Overall, a pretty good magazine especially for the beginner. The recipes are reliable, I believe they must test them on people for usability of the directions because I have found very few errors or vagueness in the directions, a major flaw of many otherwise excellent cookbooks.

Cook's Country is an American half-hour television cooking show on public television stations and Create and distributed by American Public Television. The show is based on Cook's Country magazine (published by the same company as Cook's Illustrated).

The reason was a contract dispute with America's Test Kitchen's parent company Boston Common Press, but by all accounts, the initial breakup was amicable. Kimball had already shot the 2016 seasons of "America's Test Kitchen" and "Cook's Country" and both would air as normal with Kimball hosting.

Launched in 1992, America's Test Kitchen is a nationally recognized food media company known for its rigorous testing process and recommendations for recipes and kitchen equipment. The company is currently based in the Seaport, where it runs a 15,000-square-foot test kitchen space.

Julia has been a cast member of America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country since the very beginning. But now she is adding a solo show to her resume, Julia at Home, which will be premiering on Pluto TV November 15, 2021 at 8 PM EST.

This is just as true for cooking shows as for scripted series. The long-running recipe development and home cooking series "America's Test Kitchen" underwent such a change when main chef Christopher Kimball left unceremoniously in 2015 after a contract dispute with the show's owner company, Boston Common Press.

In 2015, when he left the America's Test Kitchen TV shows, his association with the radio program also ended. He began hosting a new weekly radio cooking show in 2016, Milk Street Radio, also heard on WGBH-FM in Boston, airing Sundays at 3 p.m., and syndicated to other US public radio stations.
