The Dragon’s Breath pepper is a super-hot, mind-blowing, out of this world pepper. It has a reported peak heat of 2.48 million Scoville heat units and has been submitted to the Guinness Book of World Records for consideration as the hottest pepper in the world. There is not a lot of solid information yet about its average heat range or overall stability. Time will tell where the Dragon’s Breath officially falls in the ranking of super-hots. Will it be the hottest?

The owner of Tom Smith's Plants in the United Kingdom, Mike Smith, developed this record-breaking pepper with researchers at the University of Nottingham. It was being developed and testedfor a natural capsaicin anesthetic useful for those allergic to typical medical anesthetics.

Peppers are 1 to 2" long and taper to a point and sometimes have a tail. They have red bumpy skin and a strong floral aroma. The capsaicin oil inside oozes and drips and produces plenty of painful heat that dissipates slowly. Dragon's Breath is a serious rivalfor the Carolina Reaper's heat level. Plants grow over 3' tall and are very productive. Capsicum chinense(100 days)

A packet contains 5 seeds.

Warning: Handling this pepper requires extreme caution. Wear hand, eye, and breathing protection.

Heat Level: Mind-Blowing.

Scoville: 2,000,000 or more.

Capsicum chinense strains require a great deal of attention during the germination process. Moisture and a constant and consistent heat range must be maintained. Place the seeds in sterile media and cover 1/4” deep. Provide 85°F bottom heat, bright light and keep moist at all times. Seeds will germinate in 14 - 28 days. Transplant seedlings into pots and grow until there are 6 true leaves on the plant. Plant them directly into rich soil 4' apart.

Q: How can this be the real Dragon's Breath?

A: The Dragon's Breath pepper is a real super hot pepper discovered by a UK grower who made claims that it was the world’s hottest. Some media articles hyped it up further by saying it was hot enough to kill you. The truth is it is a very hot and productive variant of the 7 Pot Infinity pepper. The Dragon’s Breathpepper is real buthasn't beenproven to be the world’s new hottestpepper yet and has never beendocumentedtokill a person.

Not dragons breath seeds

I loved these peppers and the yield was pretty dang good but they were definitely Carolina reapers, not dragons breath. Really searching for "dragons breath" and "pepper x" seeds but they are tough to come by. Still tasty peppers tho either way.

Thanks for the info!

I tried growing some dragon's breath seeds from two other seed sellers but each of my plants produced different looking peppers and were not very productive. They were hot, but not as hot at the carolina reaper. I was searching for a new supplier on google and found this page. Thanks for your honest review of these seeds and not offering them until they are stable - I was a bit disappointed in two other seed seller's dragon's breath seeds that didn't grow very well. I hope that the strain is stabilized in the years to come and you offer them again!

Great seeds

Been growing supper hots for several years. Packs say 5 seeds each. Ordered two pack and ended up with 20 seeds. I always start my seeds by soaking them in barely damp paper towel on heating mat for 35 hours. Upon examining seeds all 20 had a nice hook starting. That's always a good start. Next planted them in 50% sand and 50% starter soil and placed them on a heating mat at 80 degrees. All 20 seeds were up in 5 to 8 days. Lost one to a bug so have 19 good looking starts now.
