Welcome to IGN’s walkthrough for Yakuza: Like a Dragon. This section covers Chapter 12: End Of The Yakuza which can be a bit of a road block for many players as it requires you to immediately earn 3 million yen. There's also a significant jump in enemy levels during this chapter, so you'll want to level up to ensure your success.

How to Earn 3 Million Yen

Your first mission as you start Chapter 12 is to come up with 3 million yen for the political campaign. Earning this the usual way (through winning regular battles on the street) takes a long time, but thankfully there are some shortcuts. Follow along for some tips on the fastest ways to make 3 million yen.

The first option is to sell the Swiss Watch you received at the end of Chapter 11; it's worth 1 million yen, so gives a nice head start. You can also sell Gold Plates and Silver Plates, as well as any other junk you find around the city for some extra cash.

The second is to complete the Part Time Hero quest Kapture The Kappa, which awards 2 million yen. Check out our individual guide below for tips on where to find all ten statues.

The third - and probably most lucrative option - is to advance further in the Business Management simulation minigame. As you climb the ranks, you can earn up to 3 million yen per shareholder meeting making this option the fastest way to rake in some extra cash for this chapter and for the game going forward. Check out our guide below for tips on moving up in Business Management.

Journey to Osaka

Once you've secured the 3 million yen, head to the map marker near Survive Bar. As you get close you'll get a phone call from Mitsu followed by a cutscene. You'll be tasked with going to Osaka to help Arakawa. But first, you need to deliver the hard-earned money to Hoshino.

You'll find Hoshino in the southeast corner of the city near Romance Street. When you arrive at the building, you'll be informed that after you deliver the money you'll be headed immediately to Osaka. So, take care of any Subquests or other business you have around town now before departing. After entering, you'll be treated to some more cutscenes.

When you arrive in Osaka, you'll be inside a cabaret club waiting for a call from Mitsu. Exit the building towards the quest marker to continue, followed by another cutscene.

After you gain control of the party, Zhao will advise you to make preparations and head towards the shopping center. Upon arrival, you'll find it's under construction and is actually the Sotenbori Battle Arena.

Note: The Sotenbori Battle Arena consists of 30 floors of battles increasing in difficulty. There are checkpoints every fifth floor and is a great way to earn some XP for your party. Plus, there are a whole host of weapon rewards, not to mention you'll earn millions of yen as you make your way through. Completing the Battle Arena is not mandatory, but it is recommended as there's a spike in enemy levels coming up soon. (The total time to get through the Battle Arena is roughly two hours. You should be more than capable of tackling it with a team around Lv. 32-35 and can expect to gain roughly 10 levels through completion.)

Once you're confident in your party's level, jump in a taxi and head to the Omi Alliance HQ. When you arrive, Kasuga will finally receive the phone call from Mitsu he was waiting for. Mitsu will warn you not to go inside as it's dangerous. As expected, Kasuga isn't going to listen to him.

Infiltrating The Omi Alliance HQ

After another short cutscene you and the party will be inside the Omi Alliance HQ. You'll need to track down Arakawa by heading to the ominous-sounding Dragon Chamber deep within.

Before heading upstairs, grab a Mysterious Stone on the ground near the left staircase. Next, head upstairs and you'll find another Mysterious Stone on the railing overlooking the first floor. Continue towards the gate and turn right to enter a narrow hallway and a short cutscene.

You'll discover that you need to infiltrate the HQ without getting caught by any enemies. Don't worry, though, if you do happen to run into any enemies they are around Level 35, so if you took some time to level up at the Battle Arena, you should be just fine. Navigate through the hallways using your map while heading towards the quest markers. You can take multiple paths to reach it, but you'll want to choose them based on the least amount of enemy resistance.

Note: If you get caught three times by the enemies, you'll be forced to restart back at the first level. So, try not to get caught.

After reaching the first doorway, head through and up the stairs. Be careful when entering the second floor as there's an enemy guarding the doorway. Wait for him to walk away by using the minimap before continuing.

Once you reach the double doors you'll have a short conversation with Adachi. Head through the doors and grab the Silver Ingot on the ground next to the left staircase. There's also a Guardian Water in a briefcase halfway up the right staircase. Continue up the stairs and exit through the double doors at the top.

In the next room, grab the Tungsten on the ground and head through the next door. You'll arrive in a room with two silver chests containing a Profane Wristband and an Iron Geta. There's also two briefcases on the ground containing Astringent Gauze and a First Aid Kit. After you've collected all the goodies, make your way through another set of double doors for a cutscene followed by a mandatory fight.

Fight: Omi Alliance

This fight is against three Omi Alliance Members: Kasai (Lv. 48), Niwa (Lv. 47), and Watanabe (Lv. 47).

Depending on your level, a single Divine Shot from Joon-gi should all but one-hit the bunch. Otherwise, focus on taking out the smaller enemies first and focus on Kasai at the end. After the fight, you'll witness a cutscene involving a very familiar face...

Boss Fight: Goro Majima

Surprise, you're up against Goro Majima, a familiar character from previous Yakuza games. Former Majima Family Patriarch Majima is Lv. 50 and if you didn't guess by the music and cutscene, this is going to be a very different battle than what you've encountered thus far.

In general, he isn't that tough on his own. He doesn't hit that hard, but his slashing attacks can cause bleeding. He's also weak to fire attacks, so use that to your advantage to deal extra damage.

After depleting roughly a quarter of his health, he will summon three Lv. 48 doppelgängers who are all considerable foes. Thankfully, the clones are easy to identify as they are purple and also a lower level than Majima.

This is where things get interesting. At this stage of the fight, utilize area attacks and try to eliminate the doppelgängers quickly as they can quickly deal a lot of damage if not checked and cause bleed damage, as well. Maintain your healing with Saeko and keep an eye on any bleed damage your party members may be taking, as this can lead to unexpected KOs.

Once Majima's health drops below 50 percent, Former Saejima Family Patriarch Saejima (Lv. 50) will join the fight, as well. Unlike his brother Majima, Saejima is resistant to fire attacks. And, just about all other attacks, too.

Kazuma Kiryu

With both enemies on the field now, you'll want to focus on taking down Majima as he has less health by this point. But, make sure to keep your party's HP topped up as Saejima's Shoulder Charge attack can deal 300-400 damage to unsuspecting party members, knocking them out easily in one shot.

Tip: If you've completed Substory 24: Fifty Shades of Play and unlocked Mr. masoch*st as a Poundmates summon, this is a battle to utilize him as he makes your party resistant to attacks for a few turns.

The two will also periodically team up and attack Kasuga with Blade Kill that dishes out over 400 damage, so make sure to keep his HP topped up to avoid an unnecessary KO.

With Majima out of the picture though, Saejima is a bit more manageable. He's resistant to most attacks, so he just needs to be worn down while you stay on top of your party's healing. Buffs and debuffs work well here, as well as any status effects you can inflict that deal damage over time like poison or burn. Stay vigilant and you'll eventually get through this very tough battle.

After the fight, you will receive a ton of XP followed by some cutscenes. You'll also have access to Goro Majima and Taiga Saejima as Poundmates summons. Nanba will tell you, "there's no turning back," but don't worry, this isn't the point of no return. Once you're ready, hop in the nearby taxi and take it to the Omi Alliance HQ.

The End of the Yakuza

After some more cutscenes upon arriving at the Omi Alliance building and the closest thing to an Avengers-level team-up, it's time to fight some angry ex-yakuza members.

Fight: Omi Alliance

The first fight is against six Omi Alliance Members: Kuroda (Lv. 48), Okuda (Lv. 47), Mizoguchi (Lv. 48), Takematsu (Lv. 47), Koizumi (Lv. 47), and Kawakami (Lv. 47).

advertisem*nt

While this may seem intimidating given the sheer number of them, this fight is nowhere near the one you just finished. Instead, utilize your normal fight tactics here by taking out the smaller enemies with area attacks before turning to Kuroda. Nanba's Essence of Pyro Prison is a great attack to use here as most of the men are weak to fire.

After the fight, you'll see another cutscene with none other than Kazuma Kiryu, the protagonist from the previous Yakuza games.

Fight: Omi Alliance

You'll immediately be tossed into another fight against six more Omi Alliance Members: Takizawa (Lv. 50) and five Lv. 48 enemies Miwa, Kitahara, Fujino, Oshiro, and Niwa.

This fight is laughably easy, as even the Lv. 50 enemy falls after just a few attacks. You should have no problem clearing the room with area attacks such as Kasuga's Giga Swing and Nanba's Essence of Pyro Prison.

Following some more cutscenes, Chapter 12 will end.
