All Legendary Sorceries and Incantations Locations in Elden Ring (2024)

This guide shows you all of the Elden Ring Legendary Sorceries and Incantations locations and how to earn the achievement for collecting them all!

Legendary Sorceries and Incantations are some of the most powerful abilities in the game. They are all impossible to use as a novice caster; in order to wield them, you must dedicate a substantial amount of your stats to Intelligence, Faith, and/or Arcane, ranging from requiring 41-68 attribute points! In addition, almost all of them cost at least 2 slots, so make sure to hunt down all 8 Memory Stones.

There are 7 Legendary Sorceries and Incantations scattered throughout the Lands Between. In this guide, I’ll be covering what they are and where you can find each of them so you can get the Legendary Sorceries and Incantations Achievement.

All Legendary Sorceries Locations

Stars of Ruin

The Stars of Ruin Sorcery is given to you by Primeval Sorcerer Lusat, who can be found behind a sealed room in Sellia Hideaway, a cave that is located northeast of Sellia, Town of Sorcery in Caelid behind an illusory wall.

The entrance and illusory rock that conceals the entrance to the Sellian Hideaway is located behind a capable Scholar of the Haima Conspectus, so be prepared to dodge giant magical hammer swings and explosions.

In order to break the seal, you’ll need to progress through Sorceress Sellen’s questline until she tells you to seek out the Lusat and gives you the Sellian Sealbreaker.

There are several illusion walls hidden inside the Sellian Hideaway too, so make sure your character has stretched their illusion-smacking arm prior to entry. Wouldn’t want to pull a muscle!

Once you’re inside, make your way towards the back of the cave and walk onto that crystal you can see on the lower right of this picture:

Drop down and head back toward the beginning of the crystal I told you to hop on a moment ago and you should see a Scholar of the Olivinus Conspectus guarding the Sellian Seal. If you encounter one of those awful grafted abominations instead, you dropped down into the wrong chasm. R.I.P. Make your way back up and try again.

Once you’ve dropped down into the correct chasm, defeat the sorcerer and you should be able to get through the seal and meet Lusat, who gives you the Stars of Ruin.

After you complete Sorceress Sellen’s questline, you can return to Lusat to receive Lusat’s Armor set. The helmet, Lusat’s Glinstone Crown, buffs the damage of Stars of Ruin by 15%, Star Shower by 10%, and Glintstone Stars by 10% at the cost of 15% increased general FP consumption.

You can check out the Elden Ring Armor Sets Catalog to find all other armor sets if you want to complete your collection.

Founding Rain of Stars and Heretical Rise Guide

The Founding Rain of Stars Sorcery is located in a chest atop the Heretical Rise, which is located on the Mountaintops of the Giants to the east of Castle Sol and a Minor Erdtree.

Entering the Heretical Rise requires crossing an invisible bridge that starts on the opposite side of the river. You can see the the non-invisible ruins of the bridge where it begins (skelly bois are loitering nearby). Also, don’t worry, this is not an exploit or anything. From Software is known for having invisible walkways like this throughout the Dark Souls franchise.

The invisible bridge begins where the ruined bridge ends. I’ve placed some Rainbow stones so you can see the path, though if you’re playing online, you may see a bunch of messages and bloodstains that indicate where is safe.

As you can see, it’s a completely straight shot from the bridge until you get most of the way there, then you’ll need to turn left and go up an invisible ramp that ends at the balcony of the Heretical Rise.

When you’re on the ramp, you can start to see a lot of glint from the invisible bridge so you may not even need to place Rainbow Stones to determine where it’s safe to stand.

Here’s a good shot of part of the straightaway and the ramp:

Once you’ve made it inside the Heretical Rise, you’ll have to fend off a couple of Avionette Soldiers. Your reward, Founding Rain of Stars is located at the top of the spire.

Comet Azur

In order to obtain Comet Azur, you’ll need to seek out Primeval Sorcerer Azur, who is located at the end of a trek all the way around Mt. Gelmir that starts at Seethwater River near Wyndham Ruins.

Just like with Lusat, if you return to Primeval Sorcerer Azur after completing Sorceress Sellen’s quest, you can also obtain Azur’s Glintstone Set. The helmet of this set, Azur’s Glintstone Crown, buffs the damage of Comet Azur by 15%, Comet by 10% and Glintstone Comet by 10% and increases your FP consumption in general by 15%.

Ranni’s Dark Moon and Chelona’s Rise Guide

Ranni’s Dark Moon is located in a chest atop Chelona’s Rise, which is on the southwest corner of the Moonlight Altar plateau in southwest Liurnia.

The Moonlight Altar is only accessible by completing Ranni the Witch’s quest, which requires touring through the entirety of the underground via coffin (Nokron, Deeproot Depths, Nokstella, and the Lake of Rot) and defeating Astel, Naturalborn of the Void.

In order to gain access to the interior of Chelona’s Rise, you must solve a “find three wise beasts puzzle”. This time, the wise beasts are huge tortoises (slightly smaller than our bro Miriel) that can be found in 3 locations across the entire Moonlight Altar.

The third tortoise might not show up. If this is the case, the seal will have already broken, so you can head back there now and claim your reward, Ranni’s Dark Moon.

This spell seems to deal less damage up front than Rennala’s Full Moon, but applies Frostbite. I use Ranni’s Dark Moon over Rennala’s Full Moon because it’s still strong enough to take out most regular enemies in a single hit, doesn’t change the number of hits required to defeat stronger enemies, and the Frostbite helps out a lot against bosses.

Greyoll’s Roar

In order to obtain Greyoll’s Roar, you must first defeat Elder Dragon Greyoll at Dragonbarrow in northwest Caelid.

Greyoll herself has a ridiculous amount of health, but defeating each of her 5 children nearby reduces her health by 20%, so take down all 5 of those dragons and Greyoll will perish. Big mama dragon also drops 5 Dragon Hearts and 50,000 Runes.

Once you’ve defeated Greyoll, head to the Cathedral of Dragon Communion is located in southwest Caelid.

Aidan will cast this Incantation against you. The fireball will keep chasing you for a while and as soon as it gets into range, flash and then detonate. The key to avoiding them is to enter the detonation range on your terms and dodge back as soon as you see the flash.
