  1. Norway
  2. The U.S.A.
  3. The U.K.
  4. Germany
  5. Italy
  6. Russia
  7. France
  8. Australia
  9. Japan
  10. China

Don’t you think this is over! I have just started. I will give you a detailed breakdown of the list with my two cents about each mass pizza consumer country. You will find my brilliant detailing down below. Swipe up or scroll down, it’s your choice.

What's In The Post

1. Norway

10 Countries That Eat The Most Pizza [#1 Is Not U.S.A.] - TheFoodXP (2)

Norway consumes the highest amount of pizza in the world. This is based on the pizza-per-person ratio. A person consumes about 11 lbs of pizza annually in Norway (still way less than I do). Considering 5.5 million people live in the beautiful and pizza-ful country, this accounts for a huge amount of pizza.

Honestly, I was shocked a bit when I didn’t see the United States at the top of the list. But this is true and statistics don’t lie. So, if you aren’t already living in Norway, I suggest you move there. Excuse me while I get my passport ready.

2. The U.S.A.

Moving on, the next country with giant pizza-consuming statistics is the U.S.A. I mean we all know Americans consume a huge amount of pizza (and fast food in general). But still, it isn’t enough to top the list. The second place still isn’t shabby when compared to the world.

Getting a bit serious, if we look at the statistics, an American consumes about 350 slices of pizza on average. Pretty great, if you ask me. A little more hard work and American can be at the top with Norway.

3. United Kingdom

Another ‘United’ country on the list is the United Kingdom. If you were to believe the statistics, you might think the British love fast food as much as they love tea. This is the reason they are among the top 3 countries in the world when it comes to eating pizza.

The catch here is the British people don’t like sitting in a pizzeria or a deli as much they like laying comfortably in a recliner and enjoying their cheese burst pizza or taking one to a picnic. Yes, the British people love takeaway pizza. This is one of the most popular delivery services in the U.K., for the pizza industry at least.

4. Germany

A common stereotype about the Germans is that they are *self-proclaimed* food connoisseurs. This is true when you talk about pizza. The Germans eat pizza very passionately. You don’t believe it? Then, let me tell you that the German pizza industry only is worth around € 1.2 billion. If this isn’t proof enough, every second about 100 slices of pizza are eaten in Germany. Now, do you believe me? The Germans love pizza!

5. Italy

10 Countries That Eat The Most Pizza [#1 Is Not U.S.A.] - TheFoodXP (4)

We all know Italy as the place that gave the world pizza. For that, we are eternally grateful. It is a bit shocking to see that the place where pizza was born is on the 5th rank on the list. Italians brought pizza with them (in a recipe, not literally) when they moved to America in the 1940s.

They may not be consuming the most pizza in the world but they have the essence of the original pizza preserved and that is EVERYTHING!

6. Russia

10 Countries That Eat The Most Pizza [#1 Is Not U.S.A.] - TheFoodXP (5)

The people dedicated to analyzing pizza statistics found that Russia loves pizza as much as they love vodka, and that says something. With pizza restaurants becoming more and more famous in the capital as well as other parts of the country, this country has earned its place on this prestigious list.

Also, they have even made the pizza Russian. You’ll find people having pizza with vodka. They use salmon, tuna, and even caviar as toppings. Can it get more Russian than this? Probably.

7. France

It is not surprising to me that the cheese and bread connoisseurs of the world find pizza, which is the best combination of the two, delicious. Well, if you break it down to a microscopic level, that’s what pizza is, right?

Well, coming back to the topic, in terms of pizza consumption, France is the 7th in the world and 3rd in Europe. The pizza industry in France is worth around € 700 million. That is a great amount to brag about.

8. Australia

Pizza is not the highest consumed fast-food in the world down under. But it comes to a close second to hamburgers. Still, there are a lot more pizza-eaters in Australia than there are in other countries of the world. There are about 52 million fast-food consumers per month in Australia and this is only counting for hamburgers, pizza, and fries. It is still a humongous amount of people.

9. Japan

This list also includes the ‘kawaii’ capital of the world, Japan. The Japanese people love pizza and are one of its highest consumers when it comes to East Asia. The Japanese order pizza at least once a week, according to the report I received from my colleague, Uzumaki Naruto (although he is a ramen fanatic).

Japan also loves experimenting with pizza. You can find all kinds of pizza dishes, from pizza rice bowls to pizza sandwiches.

10. China

Last on the list, and a very surprising one too is China. China seems to be appreciating the world’s obsession and has successfully made it to the list. The popularity of the dish has been increasing in the country and people are said to be visiting more and more pizza hubs (see what I did there).

Conclusion

With this, the journey around the world has come to an end. You have the top pizza consumers on the list. Now, it is for you to decide which country you want to move to. If you are already living in one of the countries, tell me how much of a pizza fanatic are you in the comments. Now, I shall take your leave, my dear pizza lovers. We will meet again in another of my eccentric write-ups. Till then, pizza take care of yourself.
